Inventory Ledger (Stockout Periods)
SoStocked uses Amazon's Inventory Ledger Report to filter out specific stockout days from your forecast (see Stockout Tool tutorial here). However, SoStocked does not have a ledger report to view stockout periods, as these stockout ranges are not specifically used in your forecasting, only the specific days within your velocity periods. Therefore, if you need a report to see the specific date ranges for stockouts, the best resource is your Seller Central Inventory Ledger Report from Amazon.
How to Export Stockout Dates Using Amazonβs Inventory Ledger Report
Because SoStocked does not yet offer a full Stockout export, the Inventory Ledger Report from Amazon Seller Central is the best source for generating a complete list. Here is a video showing how this works.
Step 1 β Navigate to the Inventory Ledger Report
-
Log in to Amazon Seller Central.
-
Go to Reports β Fulfillment.
-
On the left side, select Inventory Ledger.
This report provides historical daily inventory levels for all ASINs.
Step 2 β Configure the Report
You can run the report for:
-
A single ASIN or FNSKU, or
- Your entire catalog (recommended)
Suggested settings:
-
View: Summary
-
Group By: Country
-
Date Range: Last 90 days, or a custom range
- File Type: CSV
Click Request Download.
Step 3 β Open the CSV File
Open the downloaded CSV in Excel or Google Sheets.
In the file you will see:
-
Daily inventory activity per ASIN
-
Starting inventory
-
Transfers
-
Customer shipments
-
Returns
- Ending Warehouse Balance (this is the key column)
Step 4 β Filter for Stockout Days
The column you need is:
Ending Warehouse Balance
(Usually Column S)
This field shows how many units remained at the end of each day.
To find stockout days:
-
Apply filters to the header row.
-
Filter Ending Warehouse Balance to show only 0.
You will now see every day an ASIN had zero inventory at day-end, which indicates a stockout.
