How to Override your Default Supplier Lead Time at a Marketplace Level
Lead times are first set at the supplier level as a default. This default lead time is automatically applied to all products assigned to that supplier.
However, there may be situations where this default needs to be overridden at a forecast or marketplace level. For example, your default lead time may reflect stock going to a US 3PL, while the same products also sell in the UK and require a different lead time for UK forecasts.
When you update a supplier’s default lead time, it may conflict with custom lead times you have already set at the forecast level. If this happens, you will see a warning that some forecasts have different lead times saved.
At this point, you must decide:
- Do you want to override the existing custom forecast lead times with this new supplier default?
- Or do you want to keep those custom forecast lead times and only update the supplier default for other products?
This distinction is important when saving lead times.
NOTE: You can change your Primary Supplier using our Bulk Upload and keep your custom forecast lead times. Custom lead times will not be changed when you change suppliers via bulk upload.
